2:4 and the Lord will fulfill his promise to me, ¹  ‘If your descendants watch their step ²  and live faithfully in my presence ³  with all their heart and being, ⁴  then,’ he promised, ⁵  ‘you will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’ ⁶

5:5 So I have decided ⁷  to build a temple to honor the Lord ⁸  my God, as the Lord instructed my father David, ‘Your son, whom I will put on your throne in your place, is the one who will build a temple to honor me.’ ⁹

11:36 I will leave ¹⁸  his son one tribe so my servant David’s dynasty may continue to serve me ¹⁹  in Jerusalem, the city I have chosen as my home. ²⁰
